Terrapin is looking for a Dispensary General Manager to join our growing company. As a Clinton County, Pennsylvania - based cannabis company, Terrapin is a pioneer in the emerging industry. Terrapin is a cultivator and processor of high-quality medical and recreational cannabis products with plans to open a retail footprint in Pennsylvania. With over 15 years of industry experience, Terrapin was licensed to operate in the Pennsylvania marketplace in 2017, growing to more than 135 employees. Retail expansion plans in Pennsylvania have created a need for a Dispensary General Manager.A Dispensary General Manager is responsible for interfacing with the ownership, upper management, administration, floor staff, law enforcement, and vendors to coordinate and facilitate the efficiency, productivity and compliance surrounding all transactions of the business. Store managers play a key role in making sure that patrons of the business receive the best service Terrapin Care Station can provide by attending to issues surrounding sales or other business-related interactions. The General Manager is the glue that keeps the store working as a cohesive unit by coordinating and delegating the responsibilities of the staff in a way that ensures the most positive, efficient, productive, accessible and compliant operation of the business.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist and train staff to efficiently handle sales and provide superior customer serviceEffectively delegate the responsibilities and actions of the floor staffMonitor the interpersonal relationships of the staff and optimize productivity through synergyConduct regular staff performance reviews to maximize efficiency, productivity, dependability and cultivate teamworkIssue write-ups or take disciplinary actions for negligence and praise exemplary performanceLead by example, cultivating a productive, positive and safe work environmentOrganize schedules to accommodate high and low volume business timesPossess a working knowledge of every position and department in the store in order to provide training, support and make important decisions surrounding efficient daily operationsEmpower teams to take ownership and pride in their workOversee all staff performance, monitor and suggest procedures and protocols in order to maximize the efficient operations of the businessHire, develop and train dispensary employees. Lead the development of employee training materials, including education and development of staff regarding medical cannabis strains, products, and consumption mechanismsBe calm and understanding to all and offer constructive criticisms to maximize efficient operations and correct performance, where applicableCommunicate with ownership and administrative staff concerning issues of quality or riskCommunicate changes in policies and procedures to staffCommunicate sales and specials and introduce new products to staffCommunicate directly with vendors, grow/process staff, law enforcement, Department of Health officials, and compliance officersServe as a liaison to the local community and area health providersCoordinate patient outreach and educational programming (with input from grow/processors, medical staff, and marketing team)Maintain all confidential information according to HIPAA policies and proceduresCommunicate with staff to make sure they have the tools and information necessary to complete sales efficiently and effectivelyCommunicate and work directly with patients to ensure quality of service and resolve issues that may ariseCommunicate with HR department regarding payroll and disciplinary documentationCommunicate with Assistant Store Manager regularly to keep congruence throughout the management teamProcess and monitor inventory and make sure products are properly received and labeledRegularly check expiration dates and packaging for integrity, content and qualityDevelop strategies surrounding product movement and placementWork with purchasing agent to monitor sales trends and plan accordingly to reach sales goalsConduct product and compliance research and attend training programs and meetings to stay up to date on important changes in regulatory oversight and product developmentOversee actions and procedures to be sure that business is being conducted within the confines of complianceUnderstand the MJ Freeway seed-to-sale system and oversee the transferring, tracking and safe sale of all THC and THC-infused products in the storeBrainstorm marketing deals with staff to help increase sales trendsPositively reinforce new ideas to staff in order to stay ahead of changes in the regulatory environment or to advocate and manage the visions and goals of the executive team.Minimum Qualifications and RequirementsMust be able to pass state-mandated background checks and successfully complete the Department of Health's 2-hour training courseSignificant managerial experience, preferably in a cannabis retail environmentExperience in inventory management and reconciliationProficiency with computer usage, including retail point-of-sale software, all MS Office applications, email, scheduling software, and online conferencingExperience handling, processing and counting cash for daily depositsAble to navigate and utilize the inner-workings of the state mandated point-of-sale system, MJ Freeway.Parental Leave upon 1 yr of employmentHealth insurancePaid time off401(k) w/company match upon 1yr of employmentFounded in Boulder, Colorado in 2009 as Terrapin Care Station, the legacy, family-owned cannabis company in 2017 was one of the first 12 initial recipients of a Pennsylvania medical cannabis grower/processor license.
