Performs the following:This position will focus on enhancing existing media through statistically designed experiments and on increasing process robustness through media optimization.The successful candidate will conduct experiments and data analysis supporting development of manufacturing processes to support gene therapy programs.The candidate’s goals will be to evaluate and optimize production platform systems by systematically evaluating novel media supplements and a broad nutritional space.The incumbent will conduct laboratory experiments in shake flasks, small scale bioreactors and conduct independent data analysis.Candidates must be strong team players and have an ability to collaborate effectively on complex projects.Qualifications

Qualifications:Knowledge of mammalian cell culture techniques including media design, aseptic operations, cell biology, biochemistry, analytical techniques, and bioreactor operations.Direct experience with AAV production systems is a plus.Working knowledge with computer software including Word and Excel.Knowledge of statistical applications, including DOE, is a plus.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Detail oriented with excellent documentation as well as verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated technical proficiency and creativity.Education

Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ industrial experience or Master’s degree with 0+ years’ industrial experience. Degree focused in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering preferred. Other majors in Biology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology fields will be considered.
