The Greater Oregon STEM Hub (GO STEM) is a regional cross-sector collaborative that works to improve and guide integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in Eastern Oregon communities. GO STEM provides engaging learning experiences that promote and inspire educational and personal success among the educators and students it serves across 104 schools, over 38,000 square miles of the seven (7) county region in Eastern Oregon. The Greater Oregon STEM Hub's Development Director builds and maintains short-and long-term fundraising goals, including grant writing, philanthropic campaigns, managing donor relationships, and expanding sustainable fundraising efforts to advance the Greater Oregon STEM Hub's vision, mission and efforts.

The Development Director builds on and expands existing work fundraising work at the GO STEM Hub and ensures that approaches are aligned with the organization's and its funders' programmatic goals. This position is a vital GO STEM leadership team member, and it includes working closely with the Executive Director and the Program Director. This position is responsible for establishing goals, developing strategies, and achieving outcomes for fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, and a broad range of grant-writing efforts. The Development Director works with Hub staff to implement and complete projects and carries an active portfolio of current and prospective funders with related funding priorities. Through this work, this position supports the work of GO STEM's programming designed to break through systemic barriers, provide inclusive access to open opportunities, build confidence in K-12 students, provide educator professional development, and design and develop pipelines and pathways for career and college readiness for Eastern Oregon students, educators, and community members.

The Development Director ensures integrity, accountability, and transparency in philanthropic gift and donor record management and maintains accurate reporting systems necessary to document donor and funder engagement, policy and procedure development, and fundraising for implementation and progress toward achieving organizational goals through collaboration with the GO STEM leadership team. This position will develop and expand current fundraising efforts and is responsible for continued growth and sustainability efforts to maintain and build staffing and program efforts across the Hub's outreach, programs, and efforts.

This position is funded through June 2025. As part of the role's duties, the Development Director will fundraise to self-sustain their position and expand the development and program staff at GO STEM.

Responsibilities

Partner and Funder Relationship CultivationDevelop, cultivate, and leverage broad and complex partnerships with national and state government and organizations, community-based organizations, and other regional partners to develop fundraising opportunities and efforts to address specific regional needs aligned to the STEM Hub's initiative areas, mission and vision of GO STEM and EOU.Lead STEM development and fundraising efforts with CTE, workforce boards, and other organizations to develop projects for STEM and CCL pathways and pipelines for K-12 entities and college and career readiness in Eastern Oregon communities.Prospect potential funders by researching funding sources, initiating contact, and maintaining relationships year-round to ensure a growing support base. Forge relationships with prospects and contributors and sow the seeds for support to perpetuate their giving and investments.Elevate GO STEM work by ensuring timely and high-quality communication with the media, partner organizations, and community, including press releases, presentations, media relationships, and partnership development related to Hub staff, projects, and other partner and funder cultivation efforts.Provide leadership and support to partner organizations in aligning resources to GO STEM Hub priorities, such as providing expertise on program/project design, reviewing/co-developing grant proposals, and providing letters of support.Ensure that all funders receive appropriate, consistent recognition and an accounting of their contribution's impact on the community and the organization's needs.Grant Writing, Fundraising, and Fund Development

Lead extensive fundraising efforts for current and future projects at GO STEM in collaboration with the Hub leadership and staff to ensure financial growth and sustainability of programs, projects, and mission-focused efforts.Develop strategies and approaches to generate ever-higher giving levels and increase annual grant support to build continued fundraising goals.Develop and meet fundraising goals and industry standard results for grants in a fast-paced, collaborative, and creative environment focused on significantly impacting the organization.Create strategies to secure financial commitments from foundations, individual donors, industry partners, and government agencies. Write/oversee/produce promotion brochures and reports to promote fund development for GO STEM.Collect and document required grant matching funds, partnerships, and other fundraising activities.Create, analyze, and present funding proposals to prospective funders.Develop and implement strategies and solutions in response to innovative program needs.Develop budget and operational forecasts, fundraising sustainability plans, and Hub funding opportunities for revenue enhancement.Lead and collaborate on fundraising and grant writing efforts to sustain the Hub's activities and advanced initiatives.Perform duties as Co-PI as part of the GO STEM leadership team, as appropriate.Ensure all efforts follow compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, accrediting commissions, licensing requirements, administrative regulations, Board policies, and collective bargaining agreements as appropriate.Reporting, Data, and Outcomes

Lead and review grant and sponsorship reporting to ensure the completion of regularly scheduled reporting, including quarterly and yearly reports as required by funding organizations, institutions, and EOUs.Track outcomes and indicators across GO STEM-funded initiatives and use data results to evaluate and inform continuous fundraising efforts.Manage and lead grant reporting, record, and disseminate organizational activities and data to ensure progress toward specific and technical program goals and objectives.Collaborate with other STEM Hubs and external statewide evaluators to develop and implement STEM assessment tools, distribute data collection instruments, and provide technical assistance to partnersService, Professional Development

Participate in professional development opportunities, seminars, workshops, and courses to maintain core competencies in areas related to position responsibilities to develop new and expanded skillsets and networks.Attend statewide gatherings for ODE, CTE, CCL, STEM Hub Network, funder meetings, etc. as appropriate.Remain current in fund development techniques and best practices.Minimum Qualifications

Masters Degree in business, educational leadership, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.Five (5) years of experience fundraising with ability to create, lead, and implement successful fundraising efforts (campaign management, major gifts, documentation, and management) at large and small-scale operational levels.Five (5) years of demonstrated knowledge of donor acquisition and engagement techniques, individual gift proposal development and presentation, campaign assessment, organization, and leadership.Five (5) years of data collection, management, and analysis for fundraising efforts. Education research preferred.Five (5) years of demonstrated successful experience in leveraging partnerships and collaborating with the PreK-12 and university, industries, community partners, and other youth-oriented institutions and organizations.Three (3) years of supervisory experience of multiple professionals and program areas for future growth.Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in business, educational leadership, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.Fundraising Certification: training in fundraising, giving, donor programs.Seven (7) years of advanced specialized experience in relationship management, donor communication, problem solving and critical thinking, and presentation skills.Seven (7) years of data collection and research for fundraising development, management, and reporting.Seven (7) years of experience leveraging, developing, managing, and advocating for resources in the K-12 and university setting, including:

Successful fundraising as part of a team and independently,Experience enhancing revenue, containing costs, and compliance to associated policies,Successful management of multiple funding and revenue streams, braiding funding, and tracking of multiple and varied funding/reporting cycles
