Job Description

Responsibilities

Position SummaryAs a Senior Scientist, you will be part of a Chemistry group that drives the design, synthesis, and characterization of chemical leads and drug candidates supporting our drug discovery portfolio. The role requires creative thinking and the ability to efficiently bring ideas into practice. The projects may require experience working with peptides and proteins, chemical synthesis, purification (HPLC, IEC, silica gel, etc.), analytical characterization (LCMS, NMR, SDS-page, etc.), and biophysical analysis (SEC, DSF, DLS, AUC, etc.). This position involves working collaboratively within a cross-functional team and offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of a fast-paced research environment, pioneering the development of a novel therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities

Drug design and synthesis:

Design and synthesize compounds with the potential for therapeutic applications in metabolic diseases.

Plan and implement various modification schemas to optimize peptides and proteins for future clinical application.

Purification of the drug candidates and intermediates using techniques such as HPLC, IEC, SEC and silica gel flash chromatography.

Compound characterization:

Utilize analytical techniques, such as

LCMS, NMR, SDS-page, etc.,

for the characterization of synthesized compounds.

Ensure the purity, identity and biophysical properties of compounds meet the required standards for optimal therapeutic application.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

Perform data analysis using appropriate statistical and computational tools.

Interpret and present results to multidisciplinary project teams, contributing to decision-making processes in drug discovery programs.

Maintain detailed and organized laboratory records, documenting experimental procedures, observations, and results.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with medicinal chemists, biologists, pharmacologists, and other research personnel to support the progression of drug candidates.

Communicate development progress, results, and challenges to internal and external stakeholders through written reports and oral presentations.

Display professional ethics in using shared equipment in the incubator space and in the interactions with other personnel.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, guidelines, and laboratory safety protocols.

Participate in laboratory inspections and audits from site and city officials as needed.
