Information System Security Engineer (ISSE)

Description:
The Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) provides security engineering services and guidance for projects, networks, and information technology (IT) systems. The ISSE contributes to the design, development, implementation, and/or integration of Information Assurance (IA) architectures, systems, or system components, employing IA policy and best practices for data protection and secure system configuration.
Responsibilities:
The ISSE may perform a subset of the following functions based on their role, skill level, and system complexity:
Work under supervision as a member of a team using established processes to develop, test, or improve system security.
Work independently or in a contractor lead technical role, developing system security architecture and requirements, defining processes and methodologies, and resolving complex technical issues.
Qualifications/Certifications:
Active Security Clearance and Polygraph required.
DoD 8570.01-M compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or Information Assurance Systems Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level 1.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus a technical certification such as Security +; or an Associate’s degree plus two (2) years of general IT experience; or four (4) years of general IT experience with at least one (1) year in information systems security.
