The Chief Inspector oversees and manages all aspects of aircraft maintenance inspections, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and operational requirements. This role involves leading a team of inspectors, coordinating inspection schedules, and maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities. The Chief Inspector is responsible for implementing safety protocols, identifying maintenance issues, and recommending corrective actions to maintain the airworthiness of aircraft.Essential Functions:Ensure the Repair Station complies with relevant aviation regulations, such as those set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure that work performed on aircraft, engines, appliances, and components that have been maintained or inspected by the repair station has been performed to the highest standards.Develop and implement inspection procedures, conduct audits, and oversee corrective actions.Exercise final inspection authority and sign all forms confirming compliance related to inspection, repair, and return to service.Maintain current technical data for all articles maintained or repaired by the repair station, including records of manufacturer’s manuals, service bulletins, FAA manuals, and other data as required.Maintain the tool and equipment calibration program.Know all procedures for the repair station, the use of forms, tags, and complete the required paperwork as outlined in Repair Station Manual (RSM) and Quality Control Manual (QCM).Perform Quality Assurance audit of return to service documents of aircraft, engines, appliances, and components maintained or inspected by the repair station.Ensure inspection personnel are thoroughly familiar with applicable regulations, inspection methods, procedures, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tooling.Accomplish repair station vendor audits, from outside vendors as well as internal audits.Ensure proper sign offs at the end of each task performed and at the end of the day on all work packages in the repair station.Log entries, FAA Form 337 disposition, weight, and balance amendments and AFM revisions.Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Perform other duties, assignments, or special projects as required.Required Education and Experience:Current FAA airframe and powerplant license.5+ years aviation experience with at least 1 year in a quality control/assurance function.Well versed in all Federal Aviation Regulations.Computer skills to include (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project), web-based applications, OEM technical publications.Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers, customers, vendors, and suppliers.Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screening.Hold a valid driver’s license.Must be able to obtain an Airport Badge.Preferred Education and Experience:Experience using Quantum Control ERP.Supervisory Responsibility:This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may provide training and/or work direction to other staff members within the organization in the management and execution of their areas of responsibility.Physical Demands:Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. This position is very active, and the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl all day. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
