As we work to weave diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and foster a sense of belonging throughout the company and within our communities, we constantly ask ourselves: What is our impact on the world?In the role of Mechanical Coordinator/EIT, we'll count on you to:Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specificationsDevelop mechanical design calculations that follow industry standardsDevelop and backcheck plan sheets and detail drawingsAssist in the development of technical specificationsAssist in the development of construction cost estimatesTechnical writing for reports / technical memorandumsPrepare presentations (design, alternatives analysis, etc.)Coordinate with cross-discipline teams (e.g., electrical, structural, civil) on a multidisciplinary project teamPerform mechanical/general field inspections/site visitsConduct construction submittal reviews (e.g., shop drawings, O&M manuals)Perform routine engineering assignments requiring the application of standard techniques and proceduresComplete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variablesWork independently on small to mid-sized projects as supporting staff, with senior direction and check-insCommit to HDR’s quality culture and follow Quality Management Systems in placeCommit to HDR’s safety culture (Drive To Zero) and follow safety protocolsLearn from and assist senior engineers on projectsGive direction to clerical and technical personnel as neededBe respectful of othersPerform other duties as neededPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in structural, civil, or mechanical engineering fields with a desire to work on mechanical systems for water resource projects – Focus on dam infrastructureEIT (Passed the FE Exam). Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career advancementProficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)Proficiency in 2D AutoCADProficiency in 3D modeling (Autodesk Inventor is a plus)Willing to take the initiative, which includes asking clarifying questionsMust be able to respectfully and effectively communicate with a wide range of people – both internal and external to HDRWillingness to learn from others, both in person and virtuallyMust be ok with domestic travel. Up to 10% of the timeAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustDesign experience / Machining experienceAbility to read and interpret technical drawing setsFamiliarity with industry design codes/guidelines (e.g., USACE EM’s, USBR Design Standards, CMAA, etc)Required QualificationsBachelor in Mechanical EngineeringStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software)An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
