The RoleThe Morningstar Wealth group seeks a Fund Administration Manager whose primary responsibilities will be to lead ETF launches and manage accounting and reporting for Mutual Funds and ETFs within the Morningstar Funds Trust, a regulated entity with the SEC and FINRA. As the Fund Administration Manager, and upon Board of Trustees approval, you will act as the Assistant Treasurer of the Morningstar Funds Trust (the Funds) working closely with the Funds Principal Financial Officer. This is a non-people management position based out of Morningstar's corporate office in Chicago, IL. We are operating in a hybrid work environment where we are in office 3 days.ResponsibilitiesLead operational aspects of the ETF product launch by working with service providers, subadvisers, and various teams within Morningstar.Develop operational infrastructure for ETF support, create and maintain related process and procedure documents.Perform daily Mutual Fund and ETF operations as assigned.Oversee and monitor the daily net asset value calculated by the Funds' administrator.Assist the Funds' Principal Financial Officer (PFO) in overseeing the activities performed by the Funds' administrator and fund accountant.Assist in the preparation of materials for the Funds' Board of Trustees on accounting and financial reporting matters.Manage the Funds' budget, including expense payment tracking and authorization, monthly accrual review, subadvisory fee payment calculation and other related items.Assist the Funds' PFO in providing direct oversight of the Funds' annual audits.Manage the process on the Morningstar side to compile the required 40 Act Regulatory Filings (Annual Report, Semi-Annual Report, Prospectus and NPORT) in coordination with the Funds Administrator.Assist in preparing and measuring investment adviser profitability reports for the Funds' Board of Trustees, including 15c reporting.Assist in continuing efforts to improve accounting efficiency through the development and maintenance of policies and procedures.Coordinate with the Fund's PFO to establish, maintain and oversee disclosure controls and internal control over financial reporting for Mutual Funds and ETFs.Serve as liaison to the Funds Administrator and other service providers.Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBS in Accounting or Finance required.Completion of CPA, CFA is preferred.Minimum 7 years of applicable fund administration and accounting experience.Subject matter expertise in Mutual Fund and ETF processes, operations and accounting.Understanding mutual fund and ETF tax requirements a plus.Knowledgeable regarding derivative products - SWAPS, Futures, Forwards and options, including custodial and operational best practices.Must have excellent analytical, technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.High level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications, exceptional Excel skills a plus.Experience with general corporate accounting a plus.Morningstar is an equal opportunity employer.
