Director of Food and Beverage

for Independent Living, you will be responsible for overseeing the Dining Services Departments for the entire line of business. The individual is responsible for an environment of operational excellence, hospitality, and customer service. Champions the inclusion mindset, and is proactive, positive, professional, flexible, and resilient. The individual will work closely with the Vice President of Independent Living and the Executive Directors of both Miralea and Meadow to fulfill Masonic Home Kentucky’s mission.Qualifications/Skills Needed:A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business, hospitality, dining arts, food service management, hotel/restaurant management, or related service field.At least five years’ experience in dining, food service management, or hospitality management.ServeSafe Certified or must be completed within 6 months of employment.Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) highly desirable.Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resources procedures, and regulations.Ability to utilize online resources.Experience in kitchen design or opening new restaurants highly desirable.Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.Familiarity with payroll, scheduling, and other software.Duties Include, but are not limited to:Responsible for overseeing day to day operations and staff of dining services throughout Independent Living by providing consistent delivery of quality services to residents.Leads, manages, and inspires a diverse team in dining services to provide elevated services to residents.Drives and develops the team towards building meaningful relationships with residents and achievement of mutually agreed upon KPI’s (budgetary goals, safety, employee and resident engagement, resident satisfaction, sales goals, and inventory-related goals).Assists in the onboarding, ongoing training and professional development of all staff, to ensure a consistently high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and attentiveness to residents.Meets regularly with residents and family members to confirm that high satisfaction levels are maintained.Champions diversity, equity, and inclusion within the dining services department as it relates to career pathways and promotions.Responsible for the performance management of the team, which includes annual employee performance reviews and disciplinary action.Confirms that front of house and back of house staff work closely together to deliver a food product that exceeds residents’ and/or guests’ expectations.Reviews and provides guidance and direction in terms of financial management of the operating units.Responsible for oversight of budgeted FTE’s, OT, Food and Labor Cost, general supplies, and provides alternative solutions when significant variances occur in dining services.Works with staff in the planning and development of recipes and menus based on resident likes, dislikes and monthly budgets.Responsible for driving accountability in terms of Food Safety Inspections. Supports the dining services team in corrective actions, training and development.Maintains the appropriate inventory of kitchen supplies, small wares and table ware.Responsible for ensuring that purchasing standards are maintained and that appropriate vendors are used at all times. Maintains strong and positive relationships with all vendors.Responsible for review and recommendations of all third-party vendor contracts and agreements in dining services.Responsible for planning, preparation and execution of residential events, special events, banquets, and theme meals.Collaborates with all department leaders in Independent Living to provide synergy, continuous improvement processes in dining services for our residents.Oversees the management of capital expenditure projects as undertaken by the dining services department.Works closely with the sales team and Independent Living staff to market the community.Serves on the Strategic Planning Group (SPG) to support the mission of Masonic Homes Kentucky.#FS2024
