The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) in Galveston, Texas is growing and seeking to add a full-time Vitreoretinal Surgeon. This position will be engaged in a full range of patient eye care which will include surgery, outpatient clinics, inpatient care/management, and consults in the Galveston County region. Faculty also participate in the resident and fellowship education programs. Leadership opportunities are available within the Department and the Institution.

Candidate Requirements:

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited medical school with residency training in Ophthalmology. The candidate must also be Certified/Board eligible in Ophthalmology and have a valid unrestricted Texas medical license. Salary is commensurate with Academic rank, experience, and qualifications. The UTMB Health Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (OVS) has a long-standing tradition of excellence in research and education. OVS has trained more eye doctors than any other medical school in the region and boasts 34,000 eye patients and 2,600 eye surgeries annually. OVS operates four Eye Centers in the region including League City, Friendswood, Texas City, and Galveston.
