Network Engineer

DescriptionSAIC is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to serve as an IT technology integrator that utilizes networking hardware and virtual infrastructure to support customer networks. The successful candidate will work closely with the customer to continually evolve and integrate best practices for infrastructure provisioning, monitoring and deployment, and is expected to leverage a deep understanding of various operating systems, networking protocols and security practices to deliver complex and unique solutions to enable mission.QualificationsMust currently hold a TS/SCI and Poly clearance to be consideredMinimum of 9 years of relevant experienceBS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT (or other technical fields) or demonstrated equivalent experienceAbility to work well in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines, evolving priorities, and the potential to conduct operational support in adverse working environmentsKnowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (OSI model and IP subnetting basics)Experience implementing and deploying infrastructure and systemsAbility to cultivate in-depth expertise in networking protocols, logging and troubleshootingExperience troubleshooting technical problems related to networking and virtualization technologiesFamiliarization with virtualization techniques and technologiesExperience administering Linux and Windows serversKnowledge of IPv4 routing protocols, specifically OSPFKnowledge of and experience deploying and configuring current Cisco routing and switching devicesDeep understanding and experience with network security, including hardening of servers and network devicesExperience deploying and administering network security appliances, VPNs and encryption fundamentals (specifically IPSEC)A desire to create and innovate solutions in-house to address unique requirementsDesired:CCNA or equivalentCISSP or similarLinux +
