Position Title: Associate Dean - Health and Wellness (On Site - University Center, MI)Employee Group: Administrative/ProfessionalStatus: Full time, Starting Salary $87,738 – $99,133: Commensurate with Qualifications and ExperiencePosition Summary:Under the direction of the Academic Dean, the Associate Dean provides administrative management and leadership in the Division. The primary responsibilities of the Associate Dean are to support academic management and operations of the division and support the Academic Deans in furthering the academic mission and direction of the College to help ensure student success in degree completion, successful transfer to university, and/or entry-level job employment or career advancement.Health and Wellness Disciplines:Dental Assisting | Dental Hygiene | Diagnostic Medical Sonography | Lifelong Wellness | Nursing | Physical Therapist Assistant | Radiography | Respiratory Care | Surgical First Assistant | Surgical TechnologyEssential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following:Division OperationsProvides strong leadership and team-building for division faculty and staff.Aligns and administers the Division’s strategic plan with Academic Services and College Strategic Plans.Develops and mentors professional growth and student-centered program pedagogy and andragogy.Develops, implements, and involves faculty in annual plans for improving the quality of program offerings and services, to increase student success and program completion.Under the Academic Deans’ leadership, develops schedule of courses to meet the needs of students and to fulfill contractual obligations to faculty, while ensuring Academics’ ability to make faculty teaching assignments as needed.Assures that programs, courses, and instruction are meeting student transfer, job entry and/or career advancement needs.Supervises and evaluates faculty and assigned divisional staff in accordance with College policies.Hears, resolves, and/or refers student concerns.Coordinates student input to evaluation of all division faculty.Works with Deans and Faculty for new program development.Participates in promotion and tenure process according to College policies.Collaborates with administration and faculty to advocate for, and address faculty concerns.Adjunct FacultyCoordinates with Human Resources and program faculty for ongoing recruitment and orientation of adjunct faculty according to College policies.Works with program coordinators to monitor the performance of adjunct faculty and make staffing changes when needed.Budget and EquipmentAnalyzes enrollment data and expenditures by program and involves faculty in data review and proactive strategies to build enrollment, and manage costs.Assesses and administers equipment, technology, and supply needs within budget guidelines.Program Accreditation and Program ReviewMonitors programs’ compliance with program accreditation, re-accreditation, and other accreditation requirements such as yearly reporting.Works with program coordinators to ensure certification/licensure results, graduate survey data is completed regarding employment and salary range, and documented on the College website for transparency and recruitment for potential students.Works with program coordinators and Academic Deans to ensure program review cycle is implemented and contributes to strategies that help promote student success.Other DutiesActively collaborates with other areas across the College including Student Educational Services and Finance and Administrative Services to support the college mission and vision for student success.Participates in Academic Council, Deans’ Council, Curriculum Council, and other Academic and College committees as assigned.Other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean.Required QualificationsMaster’s degree in appropriate field and credentials to teach within the academic discipline in the Health and Wellness Division as required by the Higher Learning Commission.5-7 years of full-time faculty teaching experience with documented leadership experience. Community college experience preferred.Documented team leadership and development, personnel management, budget creation and management, ability to perform faculty evaluations and class scheduling, ability to work with faculty, staff and administration in diverse settings, and the ability to represent the College in a knowledgeable and positive manner to all partnerships.Additional Experiences ConsideredA doctoral degree in higher education administration, educational leadership, or a related field.Proficiency in analyzing enrollment data, budget management, and developing data-driven strategies for program improvement.Application DeadlinePosition will remain open until filled.
