Interior Designer II

on the Perkins&Will team, you will:Use enhanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in interior design, execution, and living design.Exhibit understanding of interior design concepts and integration of the architectural design process.Participate in preparing contract documents, including but not limited to floor plans and details, reflected ceiling plans, mill work design, furniture layouts, finish plans, material and furniture specifications, and schedules.Assist in creating presentation materials and models for client presentations.Manipulate basic design elements such as spatial layout, color, light, texture, and scale.Research manufacturers and selects colors, finishes, materials, lighting, and furniture for interior application, ensuring sustainability goals of the firm are maintained.Continue to grow in knowledge of project scope, budgets, and deliverables.Contribute to programming and space planning analysis and provides area calculations.Develop graphic communication skills to illustrate design concepts.Use a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way.Self-check work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.Express curiosity about the world of design, materials, and products as well as the industry at large.Take increasing ownership on tasks within project teams and studio activities.Participate in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.Keep open communication within team and with designated team leader.Communicate ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others.Coordinates effectively with partners and consultants.To join us as an

Interior Designer II , you should have:3-5 years of interior design experienceBachelor's degree in interiors, architecture or related discipline requiredProficiency in BIM, building codes (ADA, FGI, etc.), and life safety requirements, and be skilled in preliminary design studies, contract documents, field observations, and measurementsExperience in programming, planning, site analysis, furniture and interior product specifications, and construction contract administrationFunctional knowledge of 2D/3D production software, intermediate Revit, and conceptual modeling tools (Rhino, Grasshopper)Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Enscape, VRay, Ladybug, and Climate StudioLEED GA within 6 months of hireProfessional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, or ILFI Living Future AccreditationPreparing for NCIDQQualified and interested candidates should submit a resume and work samples.
