This role involves supporting senior associates, counsel, and partners in the Student Services, Disability Law, and Public Guardianship (SSDLPG) practice group.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist senior associates, counsel, and partners in handling student services and disability-related legal matters.Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed legal memos, briefs, and reports.Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.Represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings related to disability and student services issues.Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding their rights and options under applicable laws.Collaborate with educational institutions, government agencies, and other stakeholders to advocate for client interests.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and case law.Participate in client meetings, strategy sessions, and case management activities.Assist in developing case strategies and contribute to overall case planning.Support the firm's efforts in public guardianship cases as needed.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the California State Bar.2-5 years of relevant legal experience in student services, disability law, or related fields.Proven ability to conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis.Demonstrated excellence in legal writing and documentation.Experience in representing clients in legal proceedings and negotiations.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the California State Bar.Skills:Strong research and analytical skills.Exceptional writing and documentation abilities.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to student services and disability.Proficiency in legal research tools and software.Company info
