This role involves providing legal support in educational law, focusing on student services, special education, and disability rights. The ideal candidate will have strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for advocating for students and individuals with disabilities.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide legal counsel and representation to school districts, educational institutions, and families on matters related to student services and disability rights.Assist clients in navigating federal and state laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).Conduct thorough legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare memoranda, briefs, and reports on relevant educational law and disability-related issues.Represent clients in meetings, mediations, due process hearings, and other administrative or legal proceedings related to special education and disability accommodations.Collaborate with school administrators, special education teams, and other stakeholders to resolve disputes and ensure compliance with legal obligations.Stay current on evolving laws and regulations affecting student services, special education, and disability rights.Develop and deliver training or workshops for clients on relevant topics, such as special education law, IEP development, and accommodation processes.Foster positive relationships with clients, community partners, and advocacy groups involved in disability rights and educational services.Work closely with senior attorneys and legal staff to support case management and client representation.Requirements:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active membership in the California State Bar or eligibility to become licensed in California.0-5 years of experience in special education law, disability rights, or related fields.Familiarity with federal and state laws governing special education and disability rights, including IDEA, Section 504, and ADA.Demonstrated ability to manage legal cases, conduct research, and draft legal documents with precision and attention to detail.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced legal environment.Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Prior experience in special education law or working with school districts, educational institutions, or advocacy organizations.Experience in representing clients in administrative hearings, mediations, and negotiations.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including families, school administrators, and advocacy groups.Proficiency in legal research tools and technologies.Certifications:

California State Bar Certification or pending admission.Certifications in mediation or alternative dispute resolution (preferred but not required).Key Skills:
