The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the water/wastewater construction industry at an executive level, with a proven track record of managing P&L, scaling operations, and driving profitability. The CEO will be a hands-on leader, setting a clear directive for succession and growth, and will be instrumental in establishing strong connections within the California civil market.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and StrategySet and communicate a clear vision for the company, ensuring alignment with the company's transition plan.Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth and profitability, focusing on the California water/wastewater market.Lead from the front, maintaining a 'boots on the ground' presence in the office and on project sites. This candidate will be present and hold high accountability for the direction of the company.Operational ManagementOversee daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective execution of projects.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.Ensure that the company meets or exceeds its performance targets and financial goals.Financial OversightUnderstanding of project financials, not necessarily balance sheet.Must have financial oversight – knowledge of what components drive project outcomes.Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.Ensure robust financial controls and risk management practices are in place.Business DevelopmentIdentify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s market presence.Leverage existing connections within the California civil market to secure large-scale projects.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.Project ManagementEnsure successful execution of self-perform large projects, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.Oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.Implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate project risks.Talent and Succession PlanningDevelop and implement a succession plan to ensure leadership continuity.Foster a high-performance culture and support the professional development of team members.Attract, retain, and mentor top talent in the industry.QualificationsP&L Management:

Proven experience managing P&L, preferably in a public company.Industry Connections:

Established network within the water/wastewater market, preferably in California.Project Experience:

Demonstrated experience in self-performing large-scale construction projects.Leadership:

Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach.Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
