Each satellite can connect over two million people, and we’re very excited for the impact we’ll soon have in the Philippines, Peru, Mexico, and more!Backed by substantial funding and a passionate, collaborative team, we offer a rewarding work environment where you'll learn and make a significant impact, no matter where you are in your career.Apply and join us on our journey towards global connectivity!Radiation Effects Engineer — Associate ProgramAs our Radiation Effects Associate, you will support the modeling and analysis of the space radiation environment as it relates to our missions, as well as physical radiation testing of actual spacecraft hardware. You will have a direct impact on our space vehicles by simulating radiation effects at a circuit level, modeling the spacecraft to inform mechanical designs, and performing radiation testing at various laboratories across the U.S.Associate programs at Astranis typically last for twelve weeks and are salaried roles designed for students enrolled in graduate programs or graduates of four-year universities.As an Associate, you will have an amazing opportunity to work on hard problems — we pride ourselves on giving everyone at Astranis a chance to do meaningful work on challenging projects, no matter their seniority. Many past Associates have designed and tested hardware/software that is heading to space on our first satellite, and many of them are now full-time employees at Astranis.Role:
Help to evaluate fault tolerant electrical systems for operating in a radiation environmentSimulate and model the GTO and GEO radiation environmentsSupport radiation testing campaigns to up-screen componentsWork with the structures team to determine the proper shielding levels across the spacecraftWork in a cross-discipline manner across teams to inform their decisions with regards to radiation considerationsSupport other electrical design, bring-up, and test activitiesRequirements:
Hold a B.S., or currently pursuing a M.S. or Ph.D. in an engineering fieldA passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and developmentUnderstanding and experience modeling physical environments in softwareDemonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratchUS Citizenship or Green CardDon't meet them all?
