Insurgency & Violence Analyst Lead (Senior)
Overview:
This position is contingent upon award of contract. SOSi is seeking a highly qualified Insurgency & Violence Analyst Lead (Senior) to serve as the Government’s trusted advisor to individual offices to provide analysis and to serve as lead to other analysts for the contract area. Essential Job Duties: Supervises and leads a small team of analysts. Conducts analysis in insurgency and violence and populating appropriate databases. Minimum Requirements: Active in scope TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required. Bachelor's degree in military history, political science, international relations, security studies, or other social science related discipline (5 years of relevant work experience in analytic support to military analysis will be considered in lieu of a degree). Five to ten (5 -10) years of relevant experience, to include full performance analyst experience: Proven research skills on violent incidents and other local events within the target country or region. Experience searching classified and unclassified sources, particularly internet-based sources for information on violent incidents and major events. Experience with maintaining incident tracking databases. Familiarity with information management systems used by the government agency and IC, including GoogleEarth, InteIMapper, Arc View. Two to Five (2 - 5) years of relevant experience, to include: Experience searching classified and unclassified sources, particularly internet-based sources for information on violent incidents and major events. Demonstrated experience using various presentation formats such as maps, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and other reports to display results of analysis. Demonstrated experience updating and manipulating data using Microsoft Office products (especially MS Excel). Proficient in working with and updating an Oracle-based web database system. Preferred Qualifications: Proven research and analysis of regional insurgencies. Familiarity with Intelligence Community gazetteers and tools to identify relevant locational data. Familiarity with exploiting metadata for all-source military analysis. Reading proficiency in a foreign language associated with country of focus. Two to Five (2 – 5) years’ experience: Proven research skills on violent incidents and other local events in a country or region, and/or proven research skills on insurgent and terrorist group organization and operations. Experience working with DoD's incident tracking databases. Familiarity with maintaining incident tracking databases. Familiarity with insurgent and terrorist organizational structures and operational concepts. Work Environment:
