Your Role on the TeamPosition Summary:Performs non-repetitive, technically complex procedures or tests in a specialized area of the lab in order to provide data for use in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Takes a leading role in development, quality control, and quality assurance and performance improvement activities. Participates in teaching and serves as a technical resource for the division.

Essential Job Functions:The identification of essential functions below is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties that may be assigned to this position, nor does it restrict the duties which may be assigned to this position if such duties reasonably relate to the position.Performs the full range of duties including but not limited to all preanalytical processes and testing through data analysis and reporting. Performs non-repetitive technically complex procedures or tasks in a specialized area; monitors, investigates and resolves errant data and equipment failure; takes the initiative to prevent or solve problems. 60%Maintains surveillance and appropriate documentation of quality control, quality assurance and compliance with regulatory standards in the specialty area including equipment oversight, procedure review and revisions, proficiency testing and staff competency. Effectively serves as a technical resource and communicates with laboratory staff and internal and external customers to ensure a positive outcome. 20%Assists in developing new methodologies or evaluating different test platforms, serves as a team leader on projects, and prepares or edits summary data reports, writes new procedures, and participates in the full range of teaching programs including staff training and development. 20%
