SR. ACCOUNTANT LATAM

Our company is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant with solid experience in preparing accurate and timely results. This position will report to our Senior Manager Accounting and will be responsible for performing the period accounting close and financial reporting for LATAM (Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia). This position will have significant interaction with senior accounting management and global accounting teams.This position requires a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and LATAM countries accounting and reporting rules and the ability to research and conclude on accounting issues. The person must be diligent and self-motivated with attention to detail.Responsibilities

Policies and Procedures• Ensuring alignment on all processes with Corporate Finance and Global Shared Services to support the LATAM regional accounting team.• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and local LATAM accounting standards and policies, as well as compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.• Assist in the design and implementation of corporate accounting policies and procedures.• Providing input to continuously improve accounting processes and procedures and related outputs.Operations• Preparing period-end close packages and documentation for assigned LATAM entities including:• Lead schedules for major accounts,• Bank account reconciliations,• Other major account reconciliations,• Maintain Fixed assets ledger,• Calculation of amortization entries,• Intercompany reconciliations,• Post journal entries in SAP,• Follow-up of revenue recognition,• Preparing and posting of month-end and period-end journal entries including relevant accruals, reserves, and provisions.• Accounting for Fixed Asset transactions and adjustments.• Maintaining communications and coordination with country Controllers in Latin America to gather financial information used to prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.• Preparing the reconciliation of US to Local GAAP and statutory financial statements.• Identifying, escalating and helping research complex accounting and finance issues.• Assist in resolution of any accounting and internal control issues related to GL accounting operations.• Implement process changes and best practices for general ledger reporting.• Close relation with Global Shared Services and Corporate Teams.Controls and Monitoring• Proactive monitoring and analysis of accounts variances.• Compiling and reporting on key performance metrics for the Accounting process on a regional, country, and SSC level.• Perform monthly fluctuation analysis in a timely manner.• This position will work closely with various groups such as external auditors, internal auditors, SOX, FP&A, Payroll, and tax departments.Systems• The person will participate in the deployment of corporate IT systems (SAP and BlackLine) across the region.• Performing reporting/analytics/system analysis.Qualifications

3 – 5+ years of experience in public or corporate accounting.Experience with regional accounting and/or shared services supporting Latin America countries (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico) is REQUIRED!Full Cycle Financial Close Experience Required.Experience in SAP, BlackLine, a plus.Strong understanding of US GAAP and local Latin America accounting standards.Bilingual English/Spanish Required, Portuguese a plus.Advanced level with Microsoft Office Products required.Skills and Certifications

CPAIdeal Candidate

The candidate should have around 3-5 years of professional experience. At least 2 years supporting LATAM countries (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico) from an Accounting perspective. Should be someone who wants to learn really fast and someone who would like to grow in this company. As a member of the Shared Service Center, the candidate needs to have great customer service with our internal customers and understand we are here to support the business operations in the country.Additional Information
