The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice in California and will possess strong writing skills and excellent academic credentials. Experience with real estate litigation is a plus. The role involves independently managing cases, preparing complex pre-trial motions, and assisting lead trial attorneys in various litigation matters.Duties and Responsibilities:Review fact patterns and provide accurate analysis and recommendations.Analyze legal issues effectively and accurately.Serve as second chair on complex cases or first chair on simpler cases.Assist lead trial attorneys with pre-trial issues and proceedings.Prepare complex pre-trial motions and assist in evaluating and implementing pre-trial preparation and witness preparation.Handle pre-trial motions in both Federal and State courts.Independently manage small to modestly complex commercial cases with minimal or no supervision.Prepare and file motions for summary judgment.Prepare and conduct depositions, including taking complex deposition testimony.Demonstrate a breadth of experience in various substantive areas of law.Draft and review litigation documents accurately and clearly.Negotiate effectively on behalf of clients and the firm.Communicate effectively with clients, supervising attorneys, and other team members.Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree with excellent academic credentials.Active license to practice law and in good standing in California.2+ years of recent business litigation experience from a law firm.Familiarity with federal and state court procedural rules and practices.Experience with pre-trial motions and litigation document preparation.Strong case management skills and experience.Clear and effective drafting skills.Ability to learn new substantive legal topics as needed.Ability to provide reliable and effective legal services to clients and supervising attorneys.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Strong organizational and matter management skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active license to practice law and in good standing in California.Skills:Strong research, writing, and drafting skills.Proficiency in preparing and managing complex litigation documents.Effective negotiation and communication abilities.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple cases and deadlines.Familiarity with federal and state court procedural rules.Experience in handling various substantive areas of law.
