OverviewThe Church of the Cross is an Anglican Community with a long history in Bluffton, South Carolina. We are seeking a worship leader responsible for leading and growing the contemporary music at our CrossPoint service. This part-time staff position is committed to the Parish’s vision, mission, and strategy and supports the clergy, staff, and congregation through music, communication, service planning, and Christian caring.

Hours20 hours per week (flexible as necessary), with the option to move to a full-time position.

Ministry Responsibilities

Lead congregational worship.

Maintain and grow the CrossPoint worship team, including recruiting, training, and ongoing development of members. This involves scheduling and leading rehearsals and maintaining music files.

In cooperation with the Worship Director and clergy, plan services including song selection and coordination of seasonal services (Advent, Christmas, Easter, etc.).

Lead worship at occasional events (River Baptism, Nights of Prayer, etc.).

Seek a deeper understanding of worship and worship leadership through reading, conferences, study, and prayer.

Continue to grow in faith and commitment to serving TCOTC.

Help prepare presentations for Sunday worship.

Communicate clearly with volunteers and the worship team: build schedules and share chords/music with team members through Planning Center Online (PCO).

Ensure that music and liturgy are input properly into PCO and ProPresenter to create weekly service slides.

Model worship in a way that encourages greater participation and openness to the moving of the Holy Spirit in the congregation.

Professional/Personal Requirements

Love of the Lord and a caring heart for Christ’s Church.

Agreement with and support of the Parish’s Statement of Faith.

Vocal skills.

Proficiency in acoustic guitar and/or keyboard.

Desire to recruit, lead, and love musicians/singers.

A basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment and systems is helpful.

Leadership skills.

Spiritually centered.

Commitment to the mission, vision, and strategy of the Church.

Strong administrative abilities.

Excellent communication skills.

Team player.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to multitask.

Self-directed.

Strong computer skills with proficiency in ProPresenter and Planning Center.
