YesAbout the Department:The Donald G. Costello College of Business at George Mason University is one of the largest business schools in Virginia, located near Washington, D.C. Its AACSB-accredited business and accounting curricula prepare undergraduate and graduate students for career success in business and government. The Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations is committed to serving the needs of the university and the greater community.Maintains Personal Portfolio and Supports the Comprehensive Fundraising Program:Meets or exceeds all metrics and expectations set by Central Advancement and the Costello College of Business;Works closely with the Dean, Associate Deans, and senior Advancement staff to identify and solicit major gifts;Builds relationships with individual, corporate or foundation prospects with high giving capacities;Manages a portfolio of approximately 90-100 prospective donors;Engages each prospect in the portfolio, traveling to meet with major donor prospects;Submits 2-4 'Asks' per month for a total of a minimum of 24 per year;Works collaboratively with volunteers and other Advancement staff;Monitors all prospect contacts to ensure positive relations;Articulates College campaign priorities;Attends volunteer committee meetings and campaign-related events;Participates in the planning and implementation of campaign cultivation events;Provides major gifts reports, as requested;Displays good judgment and confidentiality.Coordination with Central Advancement:Coordinates fundraising with other departments;Ensures consistent communication between College/Unit and Central Advancement;Works closely with Central Advancement Services.Other Duties as Assigned:Performs other duties as required or assigned.Required Qualifications:Master's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience;Demonstrated experience with personnel management;A record of successful major gift solicitations (typically 5+ years);Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines;Excellent research, writing, and interpersonal communication skills;A creative approach to involve and solicit major donor prospects;Proficiency with Microsoft Office and donor management database systems;Ability to travel independently and work a flexible schedule;Possess a valid driver's license.Preferred Qualifications:Successful professional advancement and/or fundraising-related experience (typically 5+ years);Experience in higher education;Familiarity with CRM fundraising software;Sound judgment necessary for interacting with donors and staff;Ability to articulate the accomplishments and goals of a complex organization.Instructions to Applicants:For full consideration, applicants must apply for
