Job Description - Registered Nurse (RN) - Thoracic & Vascular Surgical unit (3282174)About Ellison 19 PatientsEllison 19 is a 30 bed Thoracic, Vascular and Laryngeal Surgery unit, primarily taking patients after PACU recovery.Surgeries include complex thoracic, esophageal, pulmonary, laryngeal, tracheal resections and reconstruction and diverse vascular surgeries including amputations, aortic grafting, and interventional procedures.These patients require postoperative management which may include chest tubes, tracheal tubes which require airway management, pain management via Epidural or IV catheters, and telemetry monitoring.We pride ourselves with a multidisciplinary collaborative approach to practice that produces positive outcomes for our patients.About Ellison 19 TeamSupportive Nursing Leadership, competitive salary, and great benefits!New Team members comment about the great teamwork and support they receive from colleagues during and after orientation.Opportunities to advance your practice include Resource Nurse to manage the day-to-day activities, preceptor to new nurses and students, Participation in Collaborative Governance Committees and Research projects on the unit which guides our Evidence-Based Practice.We look for people who are positive, flexible, and excited to develop relationships with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.Must be committed to working as part of a patient care service team, devoted to strong patient care, staff development and a diverse workforce.Massachusetts General Hospital is a founding member of the Mass General Brigham Health Care System.
