$118,800 - $233,200Position InformationUnder the leadership and supervision of the Associate Vice Chancellor of Development (AVCD), the Senior Executive Director (SED) of Constituency Programs including Business, Engineering, Sciences, and Medicine, plays a critical role in the success of Development and serves on the AVCD's senior development leadership team. The incumbent will oversee development officers around the campus, forming a hybrid centralized/decentralized development team that works closely with the Deans and faculty to identify opportunities for private support. In conjunction with the AVCD, the SED will help to create a holistic, strategic, and thoughtful approach to the development operation. The incumbent will supervise senior director-level development positions in the School of Business (SoB), College of Engineering (BCOE), College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS), and School of Medicine (SOM) to set priorities, annual goals, and staff performance metrics required to meet long-term university-wide, college, and school objectives. The SED will foster a culture of accountability around metrics and develop strategies to build fundraising capacity. The incumbent will hold a portfolio and will be expected to fundraise at a minimum of $1M annually.The full salary range for the Senior Executive Director of Constituency Programs, Business, Engineering, Sciences, and Medicine is $118,800 - $233,200 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is $160,000 - $180,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.Education RequirementsDegree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required. Advanced degree Preferred.Experience RequirementsExperience Requirement: 8 - 13 years of related experience. Required. Minimum of five years demonstrated fundraising or similar leadership experience in a higher education institution. Preferred. Previous supervisory/managerial experience. Preferred.Minimum RequirementsSpecial Condition Requirement: Travel Required. Travel Outside of Normal Business Hours Required.Preferred QualificationsExcellent skills in meeting predetermined goals and objectives, including securing gifts and meeting fundraising goals. Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communications skills, including excellent political acumen skills, to build and maintain effective working relationships within all organizational levels and with outside constituencies. Excellent knowledge of all aspects of fundraising, donor and public relations including advanced knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, etc. Excellent knowledge of leadership/management concepts, procedures, techniques and best practices. Excellent strategic planning, critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, persuasion/negotiation skills and marketing skills. Demonstrated leadership in working with key volunteer organizations, including advisory board members and/or major donors to the schools/colleges. Excellent leadership/management skills to select, train, mentor, evaluate and motivate staff.Additional InformationDemonstrated experience in developing and/or advising fundraising strategy, working with an institution's advancement leadership. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing budgets, built on an institution's strategic mission, as well as programmatic planning. Demonstrated experience in development annual and long-term work plans, and managing and evaluating employee performance. Must be able to demonstrate independent decision-making ability and sound judgment in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment. The ability to inspire confidence as well as to motivate others. The ability to excel in the framework of a highly complex research institution with significant aspirations. Excellent knowledge of the campus, its achievements, vision, mission, goals, objectives, applicable policies, infrastructure and current issues of concern and knowledge of issues of concern for higher education generally.To apply, please visit:
