Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota Apply for Job Job ID: 361623 Job Family: Administration-General Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Job Code: 9341D1 Employee Class: Acad Prof and Admin About the Job The Office for Supplier Diversity Director (Director) provides vision, leadership, and management oversight for the University's supplier diversity program. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing the University's strategy to ensure equal opportunity and promote diversity in the University's supply chain. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to exercise a high degree of independent judgment and discretionary authority in situations that involve system-wide University policies and practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals, constituencies, and communities, both on and off campus. The Director reports to the Associate Vice President for Equity and Diversity. Key Position Responsibilities Develop and direct supplier diversity initiatives and program improvements - 50%
Develop, implement, and update the strategic plan and work plan for the University's supplier diversity program. Oversee the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to set and achieve goals for the University's utilization of diverse suppliers. Serve as policy contact for the Board of Regents policy on Targeted Business, Community Economic Development, and Small Business Programs.
Outreach and relationship development - 30%
Partner closely with the University's purchasing department; external vendors; community stakeholders; local, state and government agencies. Report to the University's senior leaders and other stakeholders on the vision and outcomes of the University's supplier diversity program.
Office leadership - 20%
Provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of OSD's operations including hiring, supervising, mentoring and evaluating staff.
Qualifications Essential Qualifications Requires a BA/BS and at least 12 years of experience. Substantial experience working on supplier diversity programs or in closely related fields. Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to establish working relationships with diverse stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience working closely with senior-level administrators in a higher education setting. Experience working with procurement sourcing and contracting processes.
