The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in both litigation and counseling, with a focus on advising employers, including early and mid-stage start-ups, on a variety of employment law issues. The role requires strong litigation skills, a good command of California state and local employment laws, and a business-minded approach to problem-solving.Key Responsibilities:Advise employers on various employment law issues, including wage/hour compliance, terminations, reductions in force, leaves of absence, workplace investigations, and worker classification assessments.Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements and policies, including offer letters, employee handbooks, compensation plans, and separation agreements.Represent clients in employment-related litigation, handling both single-plaintiff and complex cases.Conduct legal research and provide detailed analysis on employment law matters.Assist clients in developing and implementing employment policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.Stay informed about changes in California state and local employment laws and regulations.Work closely with clients to provide strategic legal advice and minimize legal risks.Prepare and file legal documents, manage case deadlines, and represent clients in court appearances.Requirements:2+ years of experience in employment law, encompassing both litigation and counseling.Proven litigation skills with experience in handling single-plaintiff and complex employment cases.In-depth knowledge of California state and local employment laws.Demonstrated experience advising employers on employment law issues.Strong aptitude for drafting and reviewing employment-related documents.Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.Must be a member of the California Bar.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to practice law in the state of California (California Bar membership required).Skills:Proficiency in employment law and legal research.Strong litigation and case management abilities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to handle complex employment law matters with attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Effective time management and organizational skills.Location:Mountain View, CABenefits Offered:Life InsuranceHealth Savings Accounts (HSAs)Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
