Administrative and Non-Classroom (All Grades) Calais, AlaskaTo serve the three Native American school communities in Maine.State of Maine Superintendent (010) certification required.Salary and benefits are regionally competitive.MIE is comprised of three K-8 schools located at the Indian Township Passamaquoddy Reservation, the Pleasant Point Passamaquoddy Reservation (both in Washington County) and Penobscot Indian Nation (Penobscot County). The Central Office of Maine Indian Education is located in Calais, Maine at the Wabanaki Culture Center. High school students are tuitioned to area high schools. MIE and its three schools receive funding through the Bureau of Indian Education and Maine Department of Education and are responsible for meeting federal and state accountability measures.Maine Indian Education is seeking a knowledgeable and culturally-aware Superintendent to:Provide leadership in developing and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services for the students of our school system.Lead, guide, and direct every member of the administrative, instructional, and support services teams in setting and achieving the highest standards of excellence in educational programs and operating systems.Oversee and administer the use of all facilities, property, and funds in the best interests of students and the school system.The successful candidate must submit to substance abuse testing as required by the School Committee.Only completed applications will be considered.Accepting applications until Friday, March 6, 2020 at Noon.
