0.1Position Summary:The Surgical Tech is responsible for assisting with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room. Prepares and stocks the OR before and after surgery, gathers clean and sterile supplies, sets sterile instrument fields, maintains and monitors aseptic techniques, assists with the orientation of new staff, and participates in departmental committees. $41.45Required Qualifications:Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technologyAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminologyAbility to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidaysRequired to float between the Orange and Irvine locations as neededTwo years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facilityCompletion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical centerLicenses and Certifications:Basic Life Support (Required)Preferred Qualifications:Possession of a national Scrub Technician certificationConditions of Employment:The University of California, Irvine (UCI) seeks to provide a safe and healthy environment for the entire UCI community.
