A law firm in Miami, FL, specializing in intellectual property law seeks a skilled Chemistry IP Associate Attorney with expertise in patent prosecution and a strong background in chemistry. The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in chemistry, with a focus on organic chemistry preferred, or substantial industrial experience in organic chemistry. This role involves drafting and prosecuting chemistry patent applications, with a preference for candidates experienced in the pharmaceutical industry.Job Duties:Draft and prosecute chemistry patent applications, focusing on organic chemistry and pharmaceuticals.Conduct patentability searches and analyses, preparing opinions on patent validity and infringement.Advise clients on intellectual property matters, including patent strategy and portfolio management.Assist in patent litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.Collaborate with inventors, scientists, and engineers to understand inventions and prepare patent applications.Requirements:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in chemistry, organic chemistry, or a related field.2-6 years of experience practicing intellectual property law, specifically in patent prosecution.Admission to at least one State Bar in the U.S. and registration to practice before the USPTO.Strong academic credentials with a record of high achievement.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in drafting and prosecuting patents within the pharmaceutical industry.Familiarity with international patent laws and procedures.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under deadlines.Skills:Proficiency in drafting patent applications and responses to office actions.Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong interpersonal skills for effective client communication and collaboration.Education/Certifications:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in chemistry, organic chemistry, or a related discipline.Admission to at least one State Bar in the U.S.Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Company infoBCG Attorney Search801 Brickell Avenue, Suite 900MiamiFloridaUnited States 33131Phone :
