The role involves drafting and prosecuting chemistry patent applications, providing strategic advice on intellectual property matters, and collaborating closely with clients, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry.Duties:Draft and prosecute chemistry patent applications, specializing in organic chemistry.Conduct patentability assessments, prior art searches, and freedom-to-operate analyses.Advise clients on patent strategy, portfolio management, and intellectual property issues.Assist in patent litigation and enforcement actions related to chemistry patents.Communicate effectively with inventors, scientists, and clients to understand inventions and draft patent specifications.Requirements:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Chemistry, with a focus on Organic Chemistry, or significant industrial experience (5+ years) in organic chemistry.2-6 years of experience in intellectual property law, specifically in patent prosecution.Admission to at least one State Bar (New Jersey Bar preferred) and registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.Superior academic credentials with a strong academic record.Experience in drafting and prosecuting chemistry patent applications.Knowledge of patent laws and regulations, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector.Education and Certifications:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.Admission to at least one State Bar (New Jersey Bar preferred).Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.Skills:Strong drafting skills for patent applications and legal documents.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
