Job SummaryThe Executive Administrative Director for the Department of Medicine - Pediatrics is the Principal administrator responsible for the management, strategic development, and fiscal oversight of a clinical department at Boston Children's Hospital as well as the foundation and/or special hospital-based service fund. In this role, you will oversee administrative and financial operations, medical staff appointments, applicable budgets, billing, and compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulatory policies and procedures. This position jointly reports to the Chief of Service/Foundation President and BCH Vice President.Responsibilities:Held accountable by the Chief, Vice President, and Foundation Board of Directors for business development (as applicable).Assist the Chief and Vice President in establishing departmental/foundation policies and procedures.Evaluate, initiate, and implement various departmental policies, procedures, and systems and revise as necessary to maximize efficiency, consistency, and equity across the department.Serve as a resource for the resolution of administrative questions/issues/problems.Work with the Chief, Board of Directors, and faculty to drive innovation for patient care, customer service, and business efficiencies.Responsible for the oversight of Ambulatory clinical operations.Leverage hospital support departments such as Engineering, Supply Chain, Facilities, Planning, and HR to optimize service delivery, communication, and workflow.Responsible for the oversight of departmental space including research, clinical and administrative.Conduct staff and physician faculty meetings to disseminate information and solicit input from all staff members related to policies and procedures, day-to-day operations, etc.Responsible for full service foundation HR Department, which includes but not limited to:Processing of monthly payroll and submission of withholdings of retirement plan contributions; ERISA, 404(c) Fiduciary Compliance over independent 401(a), 403(b), 457(a), 457(b) defined benefit and/or defined contribution plan(s), Leave of absence, faculty new hires, Multi state employer.Knowledge of Foundation/department assets, Hospital budgets, and restricted funds.
