This technical resource will be involved in data quality, data design, metadata management, and data governance of Caterpillar’s digital offerings.Responsibilities:Perform necessary data-related tasks including data design, data quality, metadata management, data governance, and data architecture.Work directly on complex problems and provide solutions aligned with the overall objectives of Cat digital.Understand and evaluate business requirements impacting the Caterpillar enterprise, dealership partners, and other internal and external customers.Liaise with data creators to support project planning, training, and guidance on standards.Contribute to policies, procedures, and standards as well as technical requirements.Create the data management strategy and define continuous improvement goals of data quality, governance, and processes.Lead communication across various lines of businesses and technology partners to monitor, collect, review, and roadmap business data requirements.Ensure compliance with the latest data standards supported by the company.Maintain knowledge of functional technology of the data management systems as they change.Design robust, scalable database and data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) solutions.Document data models for domains to be deployed including logical data models and candidate source lists.Develop data ingestion store specifications identifying source systems and the tables and fields to ingest.Create, update, and enhance metadata policies, processes, and catalogs.Drive alignment and coordination of data governance efforts.Minimum Requirements:This position requires a master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience with Data and Analytics or a related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with:Data profiling tools such as Alteryx;Data cataloging tools such as Collibra;Data technology products for big data and cloud (AWS, data lakes, etc.);XML and JSON file formats;SAS programming skills and use of SAS-pc;Software development with object-oriented scripting languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, Scala, etc.;Object-oriented concepts/development/modeling.Travel:
