Now Interviewing for a general surgery residency program director to lead the development and implementation of a new general surgery residency program. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated leader to be involved in the development of a fully supported and groundbreaking program in a large and recognized dynamic healthcare system.Qualifications:Be clinically active in and have current board-certification in general surgery.Must have documented educational and administrative experience acceptable to the ACGME General Surgery Residency Review Committee.Be able to successfully obtain a Florida medical license and a medical staff appointment with the group.Previous experience as a core faculty member, Associate Program Director or Program Director in an ACGME-accredited general surgery program is required.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.Board-certified general surgeon or ABMS certified subspecialist.Exhibit a passion for medical education, teaching, and mentoring.Responsibilities:Responsibilities will include authority over and accountability for the overall operation of the general surgery residency program. This includes responsibility for the quality of didactic and clinical education as well as the administration and maintenance of an environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas. This is also a unique opportunity for qualified candidates to provide clinical medical educational leadership while delivering surgical services within the Healthcare System.
