Job Overview:

A law firm specializing in intellectual property law is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney to join their team in Santa Monica, CA. The ideal candidate will have a solid academic background and legal experience, preferably in patent prosecution, with a focus on fields such as organic chemistry, molecular biology, gene editing, or related disciplines.Duties:Drafting and prosecuting patent applications.Conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.Providing intellectual property support for clients, including portfolio management and strategic counseling.Conducting due diligence investigations and drafting opinions.Interacting with clients and collaborating with colleagues on legal matters.Requirements:Minimum of 1 year of legal practice experience, preferably at a law firm.PhD (or MD with research experience) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, cell biology, immunology, molecular biology, microbiology, oncology, gene editing, gene therapy, or a related field.Admission to the California Bar.Member of (or eligible to be a member of) the California, Washington State, New York, or Washington D.C.
