Plant Controller

dedicated to supporting our Plant City, FL facility as part of a much larger Global Plant Accounting Organization. You will be a key partner to the local Plant Manager to help maintain appropriate control over their spending. This position is critical in supporting Dart’s Strategic plan by supporting the development of a plant spending budget, analyzing and explaining the actual results compared to the plan, enhancing internal controls and standardized procedures.Our selected

We are looking for a naturally inquisitive candidate that is prepared for a new challenge in a fast-paced, continually evolving environment.Day to Day Role:Support creation of annual operating plan for plant controllable operating expense and capital expendituresMaintain variance analysis to planned expenses and support efforts to reforecast costs during the plan yearPerform the annual product cost standard setting process, periodic updates as required, and daily development of the product costsPrepare all journal entries and account reconciliations on a monthly basis, including complex correcting journals or analytical schedules that support reservesAnalyze plant financial data, including cost center reports, activity rates, variances and inventory valuation. Prepare flux analysis and complex ad hoc financial analysis.Complete the timely and accurate completion of month-end, year-end and ad hoc financial reporting and analysisPerform error resolution/root cause analysis and implement process changesIdentify and implement strategic initiatives to improve efficiencies and customer serviceCreate accurate and concise verbal and written communications to internal departments and external business partners about accounting-related informationManage special projects individually or as part of a cross-functional team, ensuring timely decision making and completionManage, perform and interpret data analytics to assist in business decisionsSupport accounting policy implementation and training of plant accounting personnel. Enforce, support and seek to enhance the procedures around internal controls through cooperation and collaboration with the Internal Audit Department.Maintain secure control of accounting-related documentation such as invoices, checks, journal entries and financial statementsMaintain accurate job aids for all duties assignedCore Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in accounting or financeEight (8) years of experience in accounting or financeSix (6) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with plant managers and other business partners with an emphasis on cost analysisExperience in assisting with development of financial justifications for capital expenditures and performance improvement projectsKnowledge of query, reporting and data analysis toolsMicrosoft Excel skills to include the ability to create spreadsheets (e.g., formulas such as V-lookup, graphs, pivot tables)Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal customersProven analytical problem solverStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to think strategically and creatively to develop new ideas and solutionsOrganizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlinesAbility to perform duties with minimal supervisionWorks well in a team environment, working towards the common goal of the department as a wholeMust be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environmentPreferred Skills and Qualifications:Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) or Certified Management Accountant (“CMA”)SAP experienceSupervisory experience with strong leadership and management skills
