The Associate Program Director for the CHAMPS program is responsible for managing staff support and ensuring programming is done in accordance with grant guidelines. The Associate Program Director will promote and implement programs that focus on health equity, prevention of chronic disease, and activities that support optimal physical/behavioral holistic health among San Francisco’s Black/African American community and all residents to HOPE SF sites. This program is a partnership with both the Department of Public Health located at the HOPE SF sites and will focus exclusively on working with families living in the Potrero Hill, Hunters View, Alice Griffith, and Sunnydale public housing developments.This position provides management and leadership at all aspects of branch activity including the improvement of staff-related matters, team building, and partnerships with the community. It will primarily support

all levels

of programming across the four sites, as well as continual relative improvement of the site’s overall functionality, community engagement, and focus on access to health and wellness resources and support.Salary Range: $66,560 TO $78,000 annuallyMinimum Qualifications

21+ years oldBA in health-related field or equivalent work experienceOne year minimum experience creating and implementing effective outreach plansExcellent organizational skills and demonstrate follow-through on tasks: multi-project/multitask orientationStrong leadership skills, program development experience, and an understanding of enhancing community engagementStaff development and training experienceExternal relations/business development to maintain and enhance contracts with County and governmental partnersFamiliarity and experience working in or with DPH, Hope SF, community-based agencies, and other key SF city partnersProven ability to work with people from a variety of different ethnic, socioeconomic, educational, religious, sexual, and generational backgroundsProven ability to exercise discretion and independent judgmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of Hope SF community and revitalization processesReflect a professional demeanor, pleasant personality, and a sense of humorAbility to manage a program budget and keep partners and staff on track financiallyExperience complying with confidentiality policies and procedures and mandated reporting lawsAbility to remain Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliantYSF approved CPR and First Aid CertificationPreferred Qualifications

Four + years of experience creating and implementing effective outreach plansFluency in Spanish/English or Cantonese/EnglishCertificate as a Community Health Worker, Mental Health Peer Specialist Certificate, or related certification from an educational institution or approved providerAll employees working with the YMCA are considered to have supervisory or disciplinary action relationships over minors.
