Job Responsibilities
Developing a state-of-the-art ocean data assimilation system, specifically the Hybrid Ensemble Kalman Filter/3D-Var for the ocean.Processing observational data streams for in situ temperature and salinity profiles, satellite altimetry, and satellite along-track L2 sea surface temperature (SST).Processing surface forcing fields from atmospheric reanalyses for simulation experiments and evaluation.Leading the technical transition from the development to operations.The candidate must be a US Citizen able to pass a NACI clearance, or Permanent Resident or foreigners holding a working visa who has already passed a NACI clearance.This position description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an employee assigned to this position.
