Full TimeOur client is seeking a Database Administrator with Oracle experience to lead operations & maintenance support for a set of mission-critical systems. In addition to O&M support, the multi-year contract includes new development projects to add system functionality and integrate/consolidate data from other systems. The DBA will have broad experience in database architecture, database administration, requirements and design, along with working in an Agile environment. The DBA will be responsible for working directly with the technical leads, Scrum teams, and users to address database defects and performance issues, elicit and document requirements, evaluate existing data architecture, and make recommendations for future data architecture.Responsibilities:
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products.Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).Consult on database design evolution and implementation.Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures.Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.Setup and maintain database documentation and standards.Plan growth and changes (capacity planning).Perform general technical troubleshooting.Patch Management and Version Control.Assist in application performance tuning.Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.Ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Oracle database and experience or working knowledge of AIX.Requirements:
3+ years of Oracle DBA experience.Experience working in an Agile environment.Fluent written and spoken English.Solid written and verbal skills.Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in complex environments.Experience in distributed, team-oriented, project environments.Demonstrated ability to successfully complete client projects.Candidates must be able to work on-site at Federal agencies located in Alexandria, VA or Melbourne, FL and must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge.
