Senior Accountant (Contract, 3-4 Months)About ARG: ARG is assisting our large engineering firm client in finding a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant for a contract position lasting 3-4 months. This temporary role will support the finance team during a critical period, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a 3-4 month contract position. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in General Ledger (GL) reconciliations and a proven track record of reviewing and verifying intercompany transactions to ensure proper allocation. Proficiency in advanced Excel is essential, and experience with Blackline is highly desirable. This role also requires expertise in corporate tax, fixed assets, depreciation, and multi-entity GL reconciliation.Key Responsibilities

GL Reconciliation:

Perform accurate and timely reconciliations of the General Ledger accounts during the 3-4 month contract period.Ensure all financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.Identify discrepancies and perform necessary corrections in the GL.

Intercompany Transactions:

Review prior intercompany transactions to verify proper allocation and accuracy.Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to intercompany transactions.

Advanced Excel:

Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and create complex financial models.Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets for various accounting processes.

Blackline Experience:

Utilize Blackline software for account reconciliations and ensure best practices are followed.Implement and optimize Blackline functionalities for improved efficiency.

Corporate Tax and Fixed Assets:

Manage corporate tax accounting, including preparation and filing of tax returns.Oversee accounting for fixed assets, including tracking, depreciation calculations, and asset disposals.

Multi-Entity GL Reconciliation:

Perform GL reconciliations for multiple entities within the organization.Ensure intercompany eliminations and consolidations are accurately reflected in the financial statements.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on GL reconciliation and intercompany transactions.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.Experience with Blackline software is a strong plus.Solid understanding of corporate tax, fixed assets, and depreciation accounting.Experience with multi-entity GL reconciliations is required.
