is seeking a board-certified full-time faculty member at the associate professor/professor level to serve as Division Head. We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead an active clinical service with responsibilities for division administration and active roles in clinical, research, and teaching arenas. The qualified candidate should have a broad interest in Medical Genetics and Genomics including experience/expertise in diagnosis and management of inborn errors of metabolism and a research focus with potential collaborations across campus including the Program for Personalized and Genomic Medicine and the Institute for Genome Sciences. The successful candidate should have an established track record of federal grant funding and current NIH funding.The Division has a collaborative relationship with the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) and is a primary site for the Department’s Pediatric residency training program, participates in teaching students in the School of Medicine (UMSOM), and is directly involved in graduate student education in the Master’s in Genetic Counseling Training Program and the Human Genetics graduate program.The current clinical genetics services and resources include both general (pediatric and adult) and specialty-focused (e.g. cardiogenetics) genetics services, with biochemical genetics, cytogenetics and translational genomics laboratories on site. The successful candidate will have a primary appointment in Pediatrics, with secondary appointments in other departments and programs, as appropriate. The academic rank and salary of the candidate will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as evaluated by the UMSOM.UMB is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
