Motion Recruitment Partners - Senior Java Developer
Grow your career as a Senior Java Developer with an innovative global bank. This is a contract role with a strong possibility of extension and will require working a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days onsite per week.Join one of the world's most renowned global banks and trusted brands with over 200 years of continuously evolving financial services worldwide. You will be responsible for building out the firm’s strategic reference data platforms used by the business unit. This role involves taking ownership of key projects and components, and being responsible for all phases of the SDLC including analysis and design, development, testing, and deployment. You will work alongside some of the smartest minds in the industry who are excited to share their knowledge and learn from you.Contract Duration:
12+ MonthsRequired Skills & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.5 to 8+ years of application development experience.Strong Java on the database side.Understanding of system and enterprise architecture concepts, with an expectation to understand how all components fit together and impact one another.Experience with the following technologies:Java (Core, JDBC, MT, Collections, I/O), Spring BootStrong understanding of SQL/PL-SQL on Oracle DBTomcat or Weblogic application server, container platform based on KubernetesREST web services, Kafka, RedisUnix commands and Korn shell scriptingFamiliarity with standard data structures and algorithms.Experience using JIRA, uDeploy, Sonarqube, TeamCity, Artifactory, Git (BitBucket).Desired Skills & Experience:Experience working with the Scrum methodology.Experience working with a NoSQL database, preferably MongoDB.Exposure to functional programming languages like Scala.Experience designing and implementing microservices.Financial services technology experience, preferably in the reference data domain.Physical and logical data modeling.What You Will Be Doing:Providing technical guidance to junior developers, including overseeing their deliverables, providing architectural guidance, enforcing company best practices, and conducting code reviews.Delivering assigned development projects within agreed schedule, quality, and scope expectations.Participating in all stages of the SDLC within an agile Scrum environment.Forming partnerships with technology vendors and gaining a deep understanding of products.Interacting with senior management to define and drive architectural direction.Interacting with PMO and translating reported problems/issues into JIRA items to implement.Enhancing/re-architecting existing components to satisfy new requirements in terms of performance and scalability.Providing level 3 (escalation) support for the application.You will receive the following benefits:Medical Insurance - Four medical plans to choose from for you and your familyHealth Savings Account (HSA)Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending AccountsVoluntary Life Insurance, Long-Term & Short-Term Disability InsuranceHospital Indemnity Insurance401(k) including match with pre and post-tax optionsLegal and Identity Protection Plans529 College Saver PlanMotion Recruitment Partners is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans/Disability/Women.
