The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is recruiting for an Environmental/Natural Resources Specialist Manager to coordinate a wide variety of Office of Marine Fisheries projects and represent the interests of the Office and programs with other institutions, state officials, and the general public. Responsibilities include:Reviewing the work of various sections, branches, and field operations.Coordinating activities and advising staff on matters of policy and administration.Providing recommendations for regulations, policies, and procedures for proper administration of programs.Liaising with other agencies, divisions, or departments of municipal, county, state, and federal government.Participating in and coordinating the office fiscal accounting and budgeting activities.Maintaining effective public relations with other state agencies and the public, including interpretation and advocacy of agency policy.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Education:A Master's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university;ANDExperience:Seven (7) years in the special experience defined below, five (5) years of which must have included line or functional administrative or advanced technical supervision.OREducation:A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university;ANDExperience:Eight (8) years in the special experience defined below, five (5) years of which must have included line or functional administrative or advanced technical supervision.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Employment must have been in an administrative, professional capacity in an area of work related to the functional responsibility of the agency in which the position exists. In program areas where special certification is required, the incumbent must be certified and experienced in that profession.
