Located in Albany, New York, New York State's capital, the University is convenient to Boston, New York City, and the Adirondacks.Job Description:The Resident Director is responsible for the administration of one or more coeducational residence halls housing between 200 and 450 students and actively supports the Department's mission by making them inviting, intellectual, and inclusive communities. The RD supervises 12 Resident Assistants and 1 Assistant Resident Director, reports to the Assistant Director for the Residential Community, and shares in a weekly on-duty rotation and the departmental recess duty rotation. This is a live-in position and the incumbent must reside in their assigned on-campus apartment designated by the Department of Residential Life.Primary Responsibilities:Supervise student staff and Assistant Resident DirectorStudent conduct adjudicationFacilities managementCommunity building and conflict resolutionServe on call and on duty on a weekly basis to respond to all emergencies, mental health, and enforce University policiesProvide programming and resources for all studentsLive-in professional responsible for all emergenciesServe on department, University-wide and/or divisional committeesRequirements:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organizationAt least two years full-time experience in higher education administration or a related fieldApplicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role.Preferred Qualifications:Masters degree in Higher Education Administration or related fieldExperience working in college/university housingExperience with supervisionExperience with crisis managementExperience with developing college/university residence hall communitiesExperience reporting and following up on maintenance, safety, and security concerns of building facilitiesAdditional Information:Professional Rank and Salary Range: Residence Hall Director, SL-2, $41,328The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, or Clery Act, mandates that all Title IV institutions, without exception, prepare, publish, and distribute an Annual Security Report.
