A law firm in Charleston, WV, is seeking an Energy Associate Attorney with 0-3 years of legal experience. The ideal candidate should have legal experience commensurate with their time in practice and a preference for general property, M&A, and/or commercial transactions experience in the energy sector. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, business stakeholders, and legal teams. The candidate must possess a strong academic record, excellent writing and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently with clients and colleagues.Duties:Provide legal counsel and support in various energy-related matters, including property, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and commercial transactions.Conduct legal research, analysis, and due diligence for energy sector projects.Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements.Communicate and collaborate with clients, business teams, and legal colleagues to develop effective legal strategies.Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Provide legal guidance and advice on energy-related issues.Requirements:0-3 years of legal experience, with experience commensurate with the candidate's time in practice.Preferably, experience in general property, M&A, and/or commercial transactions within the energy sector.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, business teams, and legal professionals.Strong academic record.Excellent writing and oral communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clients and colleagues.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active license to practice law in West Virginia or eligibility to obtain prompt licensure.Skills:Legal research and analytical skills.Drafting and reviewing legal documents.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Legal compliance knowledge.Ability to develop and implement legal strategies.Independent and collaborative work capabilities.
