Innovation.Job Description:The Department of Behavioral Sciences at DCC invites applications for part-time faculty in Behavioral Sciences.The department is searching for instructors for the Fall 2024 semester to teach the following courses:BHS 103 - Social Problems in Today's WorldCourses are in-person at the main campus in Poughkeepsie and at DCC @ Fishkill. Courses are offered during the day and during the evening. Part-time faculty teach assigned class material in accordance with learning objectives developed by the department.Requirements:Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in Sociology or closely related field.Official academic transcripts required upon hire.Effective interpersonal and communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Sociology.Experience teaching at the college level, particularly at a community college.A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction.Experience and familiarity with a learning management system (LMS) such as Brightspace, Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle.Additional Information:Professional Letters of Reference required.Working Conditions:The performance of this work is primarily in-person and on-site.Courses are held at the main campus in Poughkeepsie and at DCC @ Fishkill.Courses are held during the day and during the evening.Classification:Salary at negotiated rate, starting at:All applicants are subject to a background check to include criminal, employment, and education.Dutchess Community College is an AA/EOE employer.
