Criminal Law Attorney

A law firm in Harrisburg is seeking an experienced Criminal Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal defense and preferably bring a book of business. This position requires the ability to manage a busy caseload, possess excellent courtroom skills, and handle cases across South Central, Pennsylvania. Firm management handles administrative tasks, allowing attorneys to focus solely on practicing law.Duties:Represent clients in criminal defense cases, including misdemeanors and felonies.Provide legal counsel and representation during all stages of the criminal justice process.Conduct legal research, analyze case law, and prepare legal documents such as motions, briefs, and appeals.Attend court hearings, trials, and negotiations on behalf of clients.Investigate cases, interview witnesses, and gather evidence to build a strong defense.Collaborate with investigators, experts, and other legal professionals as needed.Maintain client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards of the legal profession.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active membership in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Bar.5+ years of experience practicing criminal law, with a focus on criminal defense.Proven track record of success in defending clients in various criminal cases.Strong knowledge of criminal law statutes, procedures, and courtroom practices.Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively and efficiently.Willingness to travel within South Central Pennsylvania for case representation.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Active membership in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Bar.Skills:Thorough understanding of criminal law principles and procedures.Exceptional courtroom advocacy and litigation skills.Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication and negotiation skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.Proficiency in legal software and research tools.
