Senior Bankruptcy Attorney

A law firm in Austin is seeking a Senior Bankruptcy Attorney with at least 2 years of experience in bankruptcy law. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, possess strong interpersonal and analytical skills, and handle routine bankruptcy matters effectively.Job Duties:Review bankruptcy pleadings and claims to be filed in the specific jurisdiction.Manage routine bankruptcy cases, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings.Monitor electronic bankruptcy filings (ECFs) and stay updated on case developments.Attend regular bankruptcy hearings and represent clients in court.Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and Trustees.Perform other duties as assigned by supervising attorneys or partners.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active membership and good standing with the Virginia Bar; Maryland Bar license is a plus.Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing bankruptcy law.Ability to organize and prioritize workloads effectively to meet deadlines.Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work in a fast-paced, volume-based environment.Intermediate to advanced-level computer skills and proficiency in general office software.Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active membership in the Virginia Bar; Maryland Bar license (optional but advantageous).Skills:Proficiency in bankruptcy law and procedures.Legal research and analytical skills.Courtroom experience and bankruptcy hearing attendance.Client communication and relationship management.Ability to work independently and as part of a team when necessary.
