A law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mass Torts Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tort, personal injury, and complex litigation matters, along with excellent academic credentials, exceptional communication skills, and a solid understanding of scientific or medical principles. This role involves significant interaction with expert witnesses and requires a collaborative approach to working with various professionals within the firm.Duties:Represent clients in mass tort litigation, including personal injury and complex litigation cases.Conduct thorough legal research and apply laws, court decisions, scientific literature, and administrative agency documents to develop strong case strategies.Work closely with expert witnesses, including medical personnel and scientists, to support case preparation and presentation.Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.Engage in discovery processes, including taking depositions, interrogatories, and document production.Advocate for clients in court hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff to ensure comprehensive case management and client service.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Licensed to practice law in North Carolina, willing to take the next available North Carolina bar exam, or eligible to seek admission without examination.3-5 years of experience in a law firm setting, focusing on tort, personal injury, and complex litigation matters.Strong background in scientific or medical principles, with the ability to understand and utilize technical information in legal contexts.Exceptional oral and written communication skills.Proven ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with a diverse team of professionals.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Undergraduate degree with excellent academic credentials.Certifications:Active license to practice law in North Carolina, or eligibility to seek admission without examination.Skills:Strong legal research and analytical skills.Excellent advocacy and litigation skills.Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting discovery.Ability to work effectively with expert witnesses and understand scientific or medical evidence.Strong organizational and time-management abilities.Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing high-quality legal representation.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
