Environmental Engineer 3 (EE3)

supports the ODW's mission as a registered Professional Engineer, overseeing the regional drinking water program and staff under the Assistant Regional Manager's guidance.The

Environmental Engineer 2 (EE2)

supports the ODW's mission by administering the regional drinking water program in assigned counties under the direct supervision of the Assistant Regional Manager.Key Responsibilities for both:Utilize engineering expertise to review and approve plans, specifications, and documents to ensure compliance with health regulations.Conduct sanitary surveys and investigations of public water systems.Assist water systems in achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance.Prepare for and respond to drinking water emergencies, ensuring public notification and safety.Provide technical assistance to local health jurisdictions, agencies, water system operators, officials, engineers, and the public.Collaborate with the ODW team to achieve program objectives and perform other assigned duties.The duty station for this full-time permanent

Spokane Valley , WA, and may be home-based if the incumbent lives in the Office of Drinking Water’s established Eastern Region including Adams, Asotin, Benton, Chelan, Columbia, Douglas, Franklin, Ferry, Garfield, Grant, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, Walla Walla, Whitman and Yakima Counties. cover letter, resume, and/or applicant profile.To qualify at the EE3 level:A Bachelor's degree or higher with a major study in one of the following engineering fields: sanitary, civil, geotechnical, water resource, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or related fieldLicensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Washington or ability to obtain licensure through comity within six months from the date of hire.One or more years of experience working in the field of environmental engineering or public health administration with state and federal drinking water regulations.To qualify at the EE2 level:A Bachelor's degree or higher with a major study in one of the following engineering fields: sanitary, civil, geotechnical, water resource, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or related field.Desired QualificationsThree or more years of experience working in the field of environmental engineering or public health administration.One or more years of experience designing, operating, or working with surface water treatment plants.For the EE2 - Have an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate.Application ProcessIntrigued?
